Lynda Sturner played Beatrice in The Effects of Gamma Rays On Man-In-The-Moon-Marigolds, directed by Patrick Falco and
produced by Counter Productions, and received one of the best actress awards of 2009 by The Cape Cod Times. She
understudied Beatrice’s daughter in the original off-Broadway production of Marigolds. Lynda appeared on Broadway in
Oliver. She was the voice of Barbara Bush on The Onion Radio Show. For Counter Productions: Bingo, the Musical,
The Segal’s of Montauk, Gamma Rays, Wit, and Insatiable Hunger. Lynda has had the great fortune to play a Jewish
mother in six of Meryl Cohn’s plays in Provincetown. Her other Provincetown credits include Come and Go by Samuel
Beckett at the Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival, The Wound of Love and Daughter of the Regiment by Jim
Dalglish. She was the Artistic Director of the Provincetown Repertory Theatre and produced new innovative work
including The Direct Line Play, Crazy Eyes and A Girl Called Dusty. She was the founding Artistic Director of
Playwright’s Forum, Inc. In New York City, was a member of the Actor’s Studio Playwright’s Unit and the Woman’s
Project. As a playwright, Lynda’s work has been produced in New York, Tokyo, Provincetown, and Valdez, Alaska.
Lynda writes feature articles for TheaterMania.com and was recently co-president of
The League of Professional Theatre Women in New York. Lynda’s play Almost Sisters just won 2nd prize in the 2009
Eventide Arts Playwright’s Contest. Lynda will be playing Amanda in The Glass Menagerie this Spring for Counter
Productions.
